Traveljunkies For Businesses

Traveljunkies For Businesses

When Google Doesn’t Find You.

You know how you feel when you’re searching for something on Google and it’s not on page 1.
And you know how frustrating it is when you scroll down the next 3 or 4 pages and you still can’t find it, so you settle for the best option you’ve found.

This is disastrous when you run a small business and you’re on Page 17.

Getting found, keeping attention and being remembered is now harder than ever, and doing what everyone else does isn’t going to help.

You know that big businesses post adverts relentlessly to brainwash us to remember them. And it works. But what small business has the time and money to do the same?

So what can you do when you don’t get found?

One trick is to use a business that’s already on Page 1.

And that’s where Traveljunkies comes in.

We’ve been connecting travellers and small businesses since 2006 and Google’s algorithm recognises our value. That’s why Traveljunkies Adventure Travel Directory is on Page 1 of Google, and just about every other search engine.

So give it a try and see what we can do for you.

Get your free listing in Traveljunkies here.

It takes 5 mins, it’s simple to do and you only need your business name and web address. We do the rest.

PS. If you don’t have a website you can now use your blog, your social media account or somewhere else where you advertise your business.

Traveljunkies For Travellers

Traveljunkies For Travellers.

So you want a holiday.

Maybe you’re looking for something different or exciting to do, or explore somewhere you haven’t been before.
Whatever you decide you’ll need to find where to go, what to do and where to stay.

This is where Traveljunkies comes in.

Let’s assume you don’t want to join thousands of other people all wanting to do the same thing and go to the same places, because if you do there are plenty of big businesses ready to sell you packaged holidays to almost anywhere in the world.

Travelling has been difficult for many in the past few years, but things are changing and the change is being led by small businesses, many of which are family owned and run.

So how do these small businesses compete with the big ones with unlimited resources. Quite simply, they don’t have to.

Here, at Traveljunkies, we only promote and refer small businesses.

Google is great if you know exactly what you’re looking for but actually finding the best solution can be another matter.
(For example, a Google search for Adventure Travel produces 1.37 Billion results. 99% of which are irrelevant).

Most of the time, we don’t find the best option and we choose the best option from those we’ve found. As soon as we find something that seems like what we want, we may not look any further or at least not beyond the next few pages. But what if the best option is actually on Page 17.

This is where Traveljunkies helps.

A simple search for a single word will find every entry that contains that word, and they’re all on the one page. Then filter the results until you find exactly what you want. How simple can that be?

So, if you’re looking for something that’s different, that avoids the crowds, and where you can get the personal attention only small businesses can do, then hit us up at www.traveljunkies.com

Our customers are looking forward to welcoming you.

Is Your Blog A Business Or A Hobby?

Some of you use your Blog like a journal or a diary or a newsletter where you post about your travels, and other things, to pass on or exchange information.

Others use it to market or promote something. Blogging is a great way to help market or promote yourself or your business, product, or service. This means you can sell something online through your blog as well as using it for informative purposes.

These two distinctions determine whether your Blog is a hobby or a business.

Here are a few rules about using your Blog for business purposes.

The Rules Of Business or more accurately The Facts Of Business

  • You’re in business to make money. If you’re not, you’ve got a hobby not a business.
  • That means having customers.
  • You will have a website or a blog. Actually they’re the same thing.
  • Your website must be found. It’s completely useless if nobody sees it.
  • That means getting traffic to your site.
  • Your website must contain the words and phrases people search for.
  • One of the most effective way of doing this is by using hashtags #.

And of course there are other things you’ll see everywhere such as “You must have a list” and “Response time must be within 3 seconds” and “Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)” etc. etc.

What Does This Tell You?

First and foremost, your blog or website must be found, because that’s where it all starts.

This means three things:

  1. It must be relevant for your target audience
  2. It must contain the words and phrases people search for
  3. You must advertise and promote it in some way

The first two are down to you. Make sure you have a clear view of who your target audience is and that what you post is relevant to them. Aim to provide help, address and solve problems, save time or save money.

  • The third can be a little more difficult especially if you have  tight budget.
  • Post on Social Media, especially on Facebook and Instagram
  • Post on other peoples’s blogs.
  • Comment on other peoples blogs.
  • Join groups & forums
  • Pay to advertise on Social Media and Google.

Why Pictures Work And What You Can Easily Do

How effective is a simple picture like this?

The brain

A short while ago I posted this and had a lot of positve comments saying how effective a simple picture like this is.
So I asked these three questions

1.  Are you using your pictures to help grow the number of visitors to your website?
2.  Do you include a picture in all your Tweets?
3.  Do you have the pictures you need to include in your advertising in the social media you use?

And the answers I got were mostly YES to question 1 and NO to questions 2 and 3.
The solution for question 2 is simple – just do it, but number 3 isn’t quite so easy.
But there’s help from SproutSocial here …

If a picture is worth 1,000 words, and the average length of a word is 5 letters, it would take you 8 months worth of Tweets to tell the same story you could with one shared image on social media. So why not just include an image?

There are lots of tools for different types of images and many of these have free and paid versions, and all are listed in this document.

I recommend you start at the top and look at two Image Design Tools, CANVA and PICMONKEY (Nos 1 & 2 in the list) to see what suits you best.
Both have free versions which enable you to design and edit images for your social media posts.
There are many free image editing tools for you to start altering, touching up, or creating your own social images, and these are two of the simplest ones to use.

*** Your Blog ***

If you don’t have a Blog that’s another story for another time,

If you do have a Blog then you’ll know it can be a lot of work and take a lot of time maintaining it.

We’ve all heard “Content is King” and this suggests you must continually add content but …

Here’s what Derek Halpern, the Founder of Social Triggers has to say …

“Much of the “common sense” wisdom that “experts” share about building a readership is, at best, flawed and, at worst, flat out wrong.
As an example, has anyone ever told you that…
“The secret to building a blog readership is by regularly updating your blog with engaging content each week!”
That couldn’t be MORE WRONG.
The 80/20 Rule for building a Blog audience is 20% Creation and 80% Promotion”
You see, many of these “experts” who dish out flawed advice fall into one of two categories. 3
They are either: –
A) Experts who built their readership back in the day, back when there was almost no competition. Back when it was EASY to build a readership. –
B) Experts who are trying to “fake it til they make it” by sharing tips and tricks that they “think” are right, but they’re not quite sure.
That’s why their advice stinks. They don’t know what they’re doing in TODAY’s overcrowded marketplace.”

If you are serious about using your blog to get more business I highly recommend Derek Halpern’s free ebook
“How To Get Your First 5,000 Subscribers”

Why You Should Use Pinterest For Your Business

The brain  processes pictures 60,000 times faster than it processes text.

cropped-Ali-on-Beach-Mission-Beach-1.jpg

FACT:  The life of a Pinterest pin is 1600 times longer than a Facebook post.

FACT:  The average Pinterest user spends 14.2 minutes every time they log in.

FACT:  Pinterest was the fastest growing social network in 2014, growing by a whopping 97 percent!

With numbers like this, you can see what a powerhouse Pinterest has become.

Things you may have heard about Pinterest:

Only women use Pinterest.

Not true any more, but not a bad thing for the travel business. It’s a well known fact that women are more involved than men in planning holidays and often make the final decision.

People only pin pictures about food, fashion, weddings & lifestyle.

Again this isn’t true, but aren’t holidays part of lifestyle anyway.

Your target audience isn’t on Pinterest

Oh yes they are because almost everybody is your target audience.

It’s too time consuming and you don’t have time for another social network.

But shouldn’t you be spending your time on where your customers are looking for what you sell.

If you have a  business to advertise and want to reach out to a whole new audience, then Pinterest must be for you.

Compared with a Facebook Post that might only be seen for a day or two by your Likers, or a Tweet that will flash by in seconds, pictures on Pinterest get pinned and repinned often for months afterwards to an ever increasing audience, because every repin is somebody helping to promote your business.

AND ANOTHER FACT:  80% of all pictures on Pinterest are Repins.

There are thousands of articles on the Internet about Pinterest tips and techniques but it’s very important to know how Pinterest works otherwise you will spend time posting pictures and wondering why nothing is happening.

There are many beginners guides but the one we used and I highly recommend is Melanie Duncan’s excellent program, Power of Pinning, which takes you through the steps to be very successful using Pinterest.

Click on this banner to see how Pinterest can help grow your business.

There’s a full 60 Days Money Back Guarantee with no questions asked so you really have nothing to lose.

Make the most of your pictures to grow your business.

Please leave a reply & tell me what you think, thanks

Best wishes.
